The Department of Housing advises:
(a)
The community housing organisations that have signed the Community Housing
Agreement with the Department reported a 0.55% vacancy rate as at 30 June 2013.
(b)
The Department does not collate waitlist data by electoral region. The Department's
North Metropolitan and South East Metropolitan Regions encompass the suburbs of
the East Metropolitan electoral region.
The Department does not collect waitlist data for all community housing
organisations. Some community housing organisations have amalgamated their
waitlist with the Department's social housing waitlist and some manage the demand
for their services through their own processes. The Department refers to the
amalgamated waitlist as the joint waitlist.
As at 30 June 2013:
(i)
the joint waitlist for the Department's North Metropolitan Region is 1,058 priority
applications and 5,893 wait turn applications for a total of 6,951 applications
(ii)
the joint waitlist for the South East Metropolitan Region is 421 priority applications
and 2,699 wait turn applications for a total of 3,120 applications
(iii)
the total joint waitlist for the two regions is 1,479 priority applications and 8,592 wait
turn applications for a total of 10,071 applications.
