(1) When was the most recent audit
of biodiversity in Western Australia?
(2) Will the minister table it?
(3) If no to (2), why not?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) The
Department of Parks and Wildlife undertook the second biodiversity audit in
2013 and 2014.
(2) No.
(3) It is not in a format that can
be tabled.
(4) The second
biodiversity audit was designed to inform the prioritisation of conservation
actions delivered by Parks and Wildlife and collated information from staff
regarding WA's plants, animals and ecological communities. It presents
a snapshot in time of the department's knowledge of the condition of
and threats to the state's biodiversity. The audit information is now
being used by Parks and Wildlife staff in developing updated nature
conservation regional plans.
