TAFE training vessel Maritime
Image
1116. Hon Tjorn Sibma to
the Leader of the House representing the
Minister for Skills and TAFE:
I refer again to
South Metropolitan TAFE's training vessel Maritime
Image.
(1) As per the minister's answers yesterday, if
all remedial works were completed on Maritime
Image in January, why is the vessel "currently not in use pending
the next survey"?
(2) When was the vessel last used for training
purposes?
(3) How much has been spent on maintenance and
repairs for Maritime Image over the last
five years?
(4) Have any business cases been developed for the
replacement of the vessel and what has been the outcome of those business
cases?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(4) The vessel is subject to regular
maintenance as required. It was last used for training on 5 November 2025.
Replacement of the vessel has been identified as an option for ongoing maritime
training requirements.
