46. Hon Martin Aldridge to the minister representing
the Minister for Emergency Services :
I refer to letters
received from the director of media and corporate communications at DFES asking
residents to participate in a survey relating to emergency rescue helicopters.
(1) Why was the survey commissioned and what is
the cost of the survey?
(2) When will the results of the survey be known
and will they be released publicly?
(3) Is the survey a condition of the sponsorship
of the RAC?
(4) How many households have been invited to
participate in the survey and what is the target response rate?

I thank the member
for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me
by the Minister for Emergency Services. The Department of Fire and Emergency
Services advises the following.
(1) The survey is a requirement of the sponsorship
agreement between DFES and RAC. The cost of the survey is $12,045.45, exclusive
of GST.
(2) Results of the survey will be presented to
DFES by mid-2025 and are for internal use.
(3) Refer to question (1).
(4) Approximately 20,000 households were invited
to participate. The target response rate is 400.
