TEACHERS - ACCOMMODATION IN REMOTE COMMUNITIES 583. Mr T. BUSWELL to the Minister for Education and Training: I ask a supplementary question. Previously, the minister said on radio that accommodation would be available for teachers coming to Western Australia from the eastern states. Point of Order Mr J.C. KOBELKE : Mr Speaker, I understand that question time is totally in your hands. I ask you to consider that the rules that we are expected to operate under indicate that supplementary questions should be straight and direct. Given the member’s total abuse of the forms of this house and his totally unacceptable behaviour towards me, while others might be willing to bear it, I ask you to consider - Mr P.D. Omodei : Get the tissues out! Mr J.C. KOBELKE : That is a clear example of it. Mr Speaker, I ask you to consider that that is not a supplementary question. The SPEAKER : Clearly, the start of the question was not a supplementary question. I gather that there is some element of a supplementary question to come. However, if it is a completely new question, I will sit the member down. Questions without Notice Resumed Mr T. BUSWELL : Given that the minister has previously stated that accommodation will be available to teachers coming to Western Australia from the eastern states, does he concede that he is grossly misleading the teachers? Mr M. McGOWAN

Grossly misleading? The member comes in here and says something that is completely wrong and then accuses me of saying something that is grossly misleading. Mr T. Buswell : Is that right? We’ll see. Mr M. McGOWAN : Honestly, the member for Vasse is too pathetic to even reply to.
