South Coast Marine Park
997. Hon Rob Horstman to
the Minister for the Environment:
I refer to the
proposed South Coast Marine Park.
(1) Can the minister advise why two areas of beach
close to the Hopetoun town site have been excised from the proposed park
boundaries?
(2) Are the proposed sites for industrial
developments?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following answer
on behalf of the Minister for the Environment.
(1) The area to the west of Hopetoun has been
designated for sand extraction to support beach re-nourishment efforts.
Additionally, the vicinity of the existing boat ramp has been identified for
potential upgrades to enhance the boating facility.
(2) The areas are not slated for industrial
developments.
