With regard to the application for a licence to take surface water from a tributary of the Hough Brook in the Ferguson Valley, that is currently being considered by the Water and Rivers Commission under s5 of the
Rights in Water and Irrigation Act 1914

(1) Have tests been carried out on the water in the dam to find out what the likely impacts will be on the environmental water flows, quality (including turbidity and salinity) and impact on the ecosystem of the tributary and the Hough Brook?
(2) If yes, what were the results?
(3) If no to (1), will tests be carried out before any decision on whether to grant the licence is made?
(4) Have the impacts of the applicant drawing water from the Hough Brook for commercial purposes on the downstream users’ riprarian rights been assessed?
(5) Will the Water and Rivers Commission be granting the license?
(6) If so, what are the conditions under which the licence will be granted?
