I refer to the minister’s media release headed “Removal of Gnangara pines a win/win for jobs and the environment” of 12 October, in which he outlines the Forest Products Commission’s plans to clear between 400 and 700 hectares a year and thin between 1 400 and 2 000 hectares a year of plantation estate on the mound, totalling 21 000 hectares. The same release states that the mound will eventually be “returned to native vegetation, which uses less water”. (1) What timetable has been established for the rehabilitation of the Gnangara mound? (2) Will Wesbeam Pty Ltd fund the rehabilitation process? (3) If not, how much is the estimated cost per hectare and from where will the funds be sourced? Hon KIM CHANCE

I have a response to this question but it does not seem to be in the file under Hon Dee Margetts’ name. Perhaps it will turn up. The PRESIDENT: I will give the Leader of the House an opportunity to answer it at a later stage.
