ENERGY — BATTERY STORAGE CONTRACTS —
COLLIE
1400. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to Collie's two big
battery projects, which have been included in a list of generators signed as
being certified reserve capacity for the WA
grid from 2026–27, as reported in the Collie River Valley Bulletin on 12 September 2024.
(1) When will the
final allocation of capacity credits be decided for the two batteries?
(2) Who will make
the payment of $125 000 per megawatt to the batteries' owners?
(3) Will this
payment be based on megawatt hours of supply to the grid or megawatt hours of
storage?
(4) What payment
methodology and frequency will be enacted in remunerating the batteries'
owners?
