I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. LandCorp is progressing the development of 85 residential lots at Casserly Street, Lancelin. The land is currently zoned to support residential development in the Shire of Gingin’s town planning scheme. To progress the residential development, LandCorp submitted an outline development plan. Approval from the shire was received in March 2005, subject to relocating the tourist information bay. A number of possible locations for the bay have been suggested. However, none was considered suitable by the shire. Extensive discussions between the shire and LandCorp have taken place on this subject. The latest correspondence from the shire, on 12 July 2006, advises that the shire is currently looking at an area that may be suitable. In the meantime, LandCorp has lodged the subdivision approval with the Western Australian Planning Commission. LandCorp is investigating development of a two-hectare mixed business site. A portion of the site is currently zoned “mixed business” in the local town planning scheme and allows for the accommodation of light industrial uses. The shire is progressing investigations into the development of a commercial centre.
