CORONAVIRUS — REGIONAL WESTERN AUSTRALIA —
MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS
847. Mr
P.J. RUNDLE to the Minister for Health:
I
have a supplementary question. Considering that frontline doctors and nurses,
who do a great job, are at highest risk in a COVID-19 outbreak, what
preparations does the minister have in place to protect our regional health
workers?
The
SPEAKER : I do not know whether
that was a carry-on from the first question. It is a completely new question .
I will accept it but it was not a follow-on from the first question.

As the member knows, we have done
ample work throughout regional Western Australia to ensure that we have not
only good testing capacity in our regional hospitals and our health network,
but also a significant amount of PPE to ensure that we can protect Western Australians
and the healthcare workers who care for them. We have been doing this work all
along and we will continue to do this work to keep Western Australians safe.
Under our new controlled border position, which is a modest change, consistent
with public health advice, we will continue to make sure Western Australians
stay safe.
