The line items shown in Budget Paper No.2, Volume 1 at page 272 "Spending Changes", under the heading "Growth in Student Numbers Funding" detail the amount of additional recurrent funding received by the Department of Education, since publication of the 2012-13 Budget to Parliament on 17 May 2012. The additional funds are allocated for the growth in public school student enrolments in excess of growth provided for in the Budget Papers.
The line item "Growth in student numbers funding to reflect Semester 1 2013 enrolments" was approved following the Semester 2, 2012 Census. This Census indicated that enrolment growth was higher than previously forecast in the Department's budget settings. Funding was provided for additional students as listed below:
· 2012/13 - 2,156 enrolments
· 2013/14 - 4,312 enrolments
· 2014/15 - 4,312 enrolments
· 2015/16 - 4,312 enrolments
· 2016/17 - 4,312 enrolments
The budget submission for additional funds was prepared on a whole-of-Department basis and was not disaggregated by region or school.
(a)-(c) Not applicable. The budget submission for additional funds was prepared on a whole-of-Department basis and was not disaggregated by region or school.
