I refer to the answer to my question without notice No. 223 on Tuesday, 5 April 2011, and the proposed $20 million of BER funding to air condition BER buildings, and I ask -
(1) Noting that it is, ‘anticipated to be completed in readiness for the 2012 school year’, how will the order of retrospective installation of air-conditioners be prioritised?
(2) Due to the topography of the eastern suburbs, will schools in these areas be prioritised?
(3) Is it intended that the air conditioners will be evaporative or refrigerative?
(4) Is it intended that the air cooling will be ducted?
(5) Is it intended that overhead fans will be installed?
(6) Will heating be made available?
(7) Will the schools be given any opportunity for input in relation to (3) to (6)?
(8) When will schools be advised as to when the installations will take place?
(9) When is it anticipated that installation will commence?
(10) Are schools expected to contribute any of their own funds towards the installation of the air cooling systems?
(11) If yes to (10), -
(a) how much; and
(b) for what?
(12) Are schools expected to vacate the BER buildings during installation?
(13) If yes to (12), will any of the installation be occurring during term time?
