(2) The appropriation of $270,000 in 2005/06 for Science Communication is a one-off initiative approved in the 2004/05 budget. (3) Financial support for the Scitech Discovery Centre is provided by way of a five-year funding agreement that commenced 1 July 2003, with a final payment due 1 July 2007. When the budget was presented to Parliament in May 2004, the final payment of $2,962,000 was inadvertently omitted from the 2007/08 forward estimates provided by the Department of Treasury and Finance. (4) The Strategic Research Fund for the Marine Environment is an unincorporated joint venture between the CSIRO and the State Government. Each party committed $10,000,000 over 6 years commencing 2000/01. Delays in the commencement of the joint venture have resulted in the final component of funding ($1,385,000) being budgeted in 2006/07.
