I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(3) The Carpenter government is continuing to address the abject neglect of government schools under the previous coalition government with a record of $1.4 billion investment in maintenance and capital works during this term of office. The government is continuing to assess the needs of all schools, including Governor Stirling Senior High School, when determining future capital works investments. Last year the Minister for Education and Training approved the expenditure of more than $400 000 to undertake a significant amount of maintenance work at Governor Stirling Senior High School over the summer break, including painting, external cleaning, new floor coverings and window treatments.
