(1) (a)-(i) Each year schools are provided with a Learning Technology (LT) grant to meet the minimum computer to student ratio. For primary schools that ratio is one computer for every 10 students (1:10); and for secondary schools the ratio is one computer for every five students (1:5). Once that target is achieved, schools can use the balance of the funds to upgrade and/or maintain other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) infrastructure or procure other ICT components, such as iPads, at their discretion.
(2) (a)-(i) None of the schools have received funding for the specific purpose of purchasing iPads or equivalent. Schools may have procured iPads using the LT grants.
(3) Schools with a low socio-economic index (SEI) (below 100) receive additional funding for SEI, but this is not specifically related to computers in school.
