Portions of DEC's Swan, South West, Warren and South Coast regions fall within the South West Region electorate.
The 2012-13 Parks and Visitor Services budget is allocated across the four regions at the broad activity level including for the preparation of management plans, building, managing and maintaining access and visitor facilities and providing visitor information, education material and interpretive activity programs, working with volunteers, local tourist organisations and commercial tour operators and involving Aboriginal people in park management.
Specific projects being undertaken in the four regions include campground development, with access for caravans, at Nanga in Lane Poole Reserve, at Martins Tank in Yalgorup National Park, and at Potters Gorge in Wellington National Park; road upgrade in Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park; lookout and boardwalk in Mount Frankland National Park; and redevelopment of lookouts at The Gap and Natural Bridge in Torndirrup National Park.
