ENROLMENTS
290. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Education:
I refer to the additional $40 million
identified in the 2013–14 Government
Mid-year Financial Projections Statement approved to fund
higher-than-anticipated student enrolment growth.
(1) At the
time of the cut-off for the midyear review, what was the anticipated number of
additional enrolments in 2013–14?
(2) What is the actual additional number of enrolments in
2013–14 to date?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) The
forecast additional enrolments at the midyear review cut-off for 2013–14
totalled 9 931 students. Data is for full-time public school students,
including community kindergartens. Enrolments for a given financial year are
calculated as the average of semester 2 and semester 1 census information.
(2) The 2014 semester 1 census has not been formally
completed.
