DEPARTMENT FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - DIRECTOR GENERAL
I refer to the Department for Community Development. (1) Who is the current director general; and, if another officer is currently acting in that position or has acted in that position this year - (a) who holds or held the acting position; (b) when did that person commence the acting position and for what term; and (c) for what reason was the director general absent from the position and for how long? (2) Have any changes been made in the executive management of the department this year; and, if so - (a) what are those changes; (b) when were those changes implemented; and (c) what changes are planned in the next 12 months? I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question.  The Minister for Community Development has provided the following response, and I have also been asked to advise the member that the answer is correct as of today, 28 September 2006 - (1) The current director general is Jane Brazier.  No other officer is currently acting in the position.  Pauline Bagdonavicius, executive director, program and sector development, held the position of acting director general from 8 to 19 May 2006, while the director general, Jane Brazier, was overseas on annual leave.  Lex McCulloch, executive director, community development and statewide services at the time, held the position of acting director general from 15 December 2005 to 3 February 2006 while the director general, Jane Brazier, was on annual leave. (2) Substantive appointments to executive in 2006 are as follows.  Mark Glasson was appointed executive director, family and domestic violence unit on 24 February 2006; and Helen Creed was appointed executive director, Office for Women’s Policy on 15 May 2006.  Judy Hogben is currently acting executive director, community development and statewide services and has been since 1 May 2006 on this occasion.  David Vicary was appointed to a temporary position of executive director, special projects on 8 March 2006.  No other changes are planned for the next 12 months.
