MUJA AB — REFURBISHMENT — VERVE ENERGY ADVICE
312. Mr W.J. JOHNSTON to the Premier:
I have a
supplementary question. How is it, Premier, that without holding an open and
public inquiry into this scandal, he can tell us that neither Mr Collier nor Mr
Eiszele are responsible for this mess?

AnswerView source ↗

It is because I do
not go around pointing the finger of blame at people.
Several members
interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Mr C.J. BARNETT : I do not do that. As Premier and the
minister responsible for public sector management, I am simply not going to do
it.
Mr M. McGowan : No-one is responsible.
Mr C.J. BARNETT : You keep carrying on about scandals and
everything else.
Mr M. McGowan : It is.
Mr C.J. BARNETT : You can say that.
Several members
interjected.
Mr C.J. BARNETT : The government will deal with this
situation. As I have said, in many respects, this has been a bungled project. I
made that very clear as this information has sort of come out. I have also said
that this government accepts responsibility. We do; we are the government; we
took those decisions and we accept responsibility. I am sure the Minister for
Energy will provide some further details as we go forward.
