Hon. Sally Talbot questions the government about plans to address groundwater over-allocation in the South West, referencing a UWA report. The Minister confirms a plan exists, managed through water allocation plans, but it doesn't include mandatory licenses for domestic bore users or commercial plantation managers.

GROUNDWATER
MANAGEMENT — SOUTH WEST
588. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the
minister representing the Minister for Water:
I refer to a draft report conducted by the University of
Western Australia titled ''A Regulatory Framework for Groundwater
Management in a Drying South West''.
(1) Does the
government have a plan to combat the over-allocation of groundwater from the
seven groundwater management areas in the south west?
(2) If yes to (1), what is the plan and is it publicly
available?
(3) Does the
plan include plans for mandatory licences for domestic bore users and
commercial plantation managers?
