I refer to the Tengraph system
operated by the department of mines and petroleum.
(1) What was the
basis of the decision to retire the Citrix Tengraph system and replace it with
a web-based system?
(2) Has the minister or his
department received any negative feedback about this decision?
(3) Is the
minister or his department confident that the new web-based system can
adequately replace the Citrix system?
(4) Will the
minister or his department consider reinstating the Citrix-based system, which
was one of the best mines data systems operating in Australia?

the web technology now used by Tengraph is consistent with the delivery of
applications via the internet to desktop, tablet and handheld devices without
the need for Citrix plugins.
(2) Overall, the system has
received positive feedback.
(3) Yes. The new
web system greatly exceeds what was available in the Citrix version and has
enhanced statewide datasets, image data, data extraction, map-quality print,
and analysis tools.
(4) No. The new web system is now
considered the best mines data system in Australia.
