MINISTER FOR CULTURE AND
THE ARTS; SPORT AND RECREATION;INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION; HERITAGE —
RETIREMENT
1113. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
I refer to yesterday's
retirement statement from the Minister for Culture and the Arts; Sport and
Recreation; International Education; Heritage.
(1) Who drafted and approved the
statement and its publication via official state government channels?
(2) Noting the
minister's gratitude for the Premier's agreement to retain him
in cabinet until the election, what expectations does he have of him fulfilling
his ministerial duties for the next six months considering his stated intention
to, ''be totally focused on assisting our magnificent Labor members and
candidates in their re-election bids''?
(3) Considering
his generous ministerial salary, has the Premier told the minister to focus
instead on fulfilling his duties as a minister rather than playing political
games?
(4) If not, whom are the departmental officials in his
portfolio areas of responsibility supposed to report to and advise?
