Given the responsibility of local governments to
provide statutory protection to places of local heritage values, as required by
the provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes)
Regulation 2015 – Schedule 2 Deemed Provisions, I ask: (a) how many local governments do not have heritage
lists, and which local governments are they; (b) how many local governments have adopted a policy of
only listing a place where the owner has not objected to that listing, and
which local governments are they; and (c) how many local governments have heritage lists
exclusively of places already listed on the Register of Heritage Places and
therefore already protected at a state level, and which local governments are
they?
