I refer to reports of high-level meetings this week to discuss tougher penalties for the sale and supply of illicit tobacco products, and I ask : (a) How many enforcement fines have been upheld to date in relation to the illicit sale of tobacco products; (b) How much do these fines amount to; and (c) What is being done to ensure the ongoing monitoring of this issue?

(a-b) Between 1 January 2024 and 31 August 2025, the Department of Health has issued 50 infringement notices, amounting to $50,000, for offences relating to the illicit sale of tobacco products.
(c) The Department of Health is actively monitoring and enforcing illicit tobacco sales across Western Australia, working closely with WA Police, Australian Border Force, and the Illicit Tobacco and E-Cigarette Commissioner. Members of the public can report suspected illicit tobacco sales to the Department of Health.
