❓ Hon Martin Pritchard asks about the change in WA Health's full-time equivalent (FTE) staffing levels between March 2015 and March 2016, and seeks a breakdown of how any reduction was achieved. The Minister provides the FTE numbers and the number of voluntary redundancies, but declines to provide a detailed breakdown of the remaining reduction due to resource constraints.

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) (a) There were 37 374 FTEs; and
(b) there were 35 612 FTEs.
(2) The
reduction of 1 762 FTEs includes 116 FTEs, or 144 employees, who received voluntary
redundancies. Information about the breakdown of the remaining 1 646 FTEs is
not held centrally and would require a significant amount of consultation and
manual research that would divert WA Health staff away from their normal
duties, and the minister is not prepared to allocate the state's
resources to provide a response. If the member has a specific inquiry, the
minister will endeavour to provide a reply.
