(1) For assessment in 2012, 4 051 students enrolled in Years 6-10 applied to sit the Gifted and Talented Selective Entrance Tests.
(2) Of the students who sat the GATE test:
(2)(a)  40.7 per cent applied for Perth Modern School as a first preference;
(2)(b) 14.5 per cent applied for John Curtin College of the Arts as a first preference;
(2)(c) 6.1 per cent applied for Shenton College Selective Academic as a first preference;
(2)(d) 1.7 per cent applied for Applecross Senior High School Selective Visual Arts as a first preference; and
(2)(e) 9.5 per cent applied for Willetton Senior High School Selective Academic as a first preference.
