MENTAL HEALTH — BEDS — METHAMPHETAMINE STRATEGY —REGIONAL
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
467. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the minister
representing the Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to the government's
announcement of an additional 60 beds across the state as part of its ''fight
meth strategy'' and comments by the Minister for Police that ''there
are pinch points in the regions''.
(1) Where are these ''pinch
points''?
(2) How many of them are in the
south west region and where are they?
(3) What are the
specific details of how the location of the 32 beds to be allocated to regional
Western Australia will be determined?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) In the
planning and procurement of services, the Mental Health Commission will review
current demand and supply across the state to determine the location of the
beds.
(2)–(3) The
number and location of beds will be subject to further planning and government
procurement processes.
