Given that Western Australia is now ranked fourth, and moving rapidly to fifth, in terms of State Government investment in arts and culture nationally, and also that winding up the four year Ignite funding injection to the arts and culture sector made by Labor is reflected in the current budget and forward estimates, does the Minister believe that there is no need to continue the same level of ongoing support which was inherent through the Ignite funding?

Between 2007-08 and 2011-12 funding for the Department of Culture and the Arts' recurrently funded organisations increased by 16.5% from $14,778,706 to $17,223,624. No decreases will be applied to the recurrent funding to these organisations in 2012-13.
