I refer to public sector employees in Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) housing inside
liquor restricted areas in the Kimberley, and I ask: (a) are there any rules, guidelines, codes of
conduct or any other measures for public sector employees in Government housing
concerning the procurement, consumption, possession or on-sale of alcohol in
liquor restricted areas; and (b) has the Public Sector Commission received or are aware of any complaints concerning excessive consumption of alcohol by public
sector employees in Government accommodation?

The Public Sector Commission advises:
(a) All public sector bodies and employees are required to comply with the principles of conduct specified in s.9 of the
Public Sector Management Act 1994
, and the minimum standards of conduct and integrity as articulated in
Commissioner's Instruction No. 7 - Code of Ethics.
All public sector bodies are also required to develop, implement and promote a code of conduct and to ensure compliance with that code as articulated in
Commissioner's Instruction No. 8 - Codes of conduct and integrity training.
In addition all public servants, like the general public, should abide by the laws applicable to them.
