(2) Ms Cresswell has been advised that the Seniors Card was not developed as a form of income support but as a retirement card aimed at ensuring older people remained within the mainstream of active community life. Seniors who remain in the workforce are less likely to need this form of support as generally they have regular social contact and remain connected and active through their employment. Ms Cresswell has also been advised that the cost and equity issues associated with any change to the Seniors Card criteria would need to be carefully considered.
