There will always be a little of
what I call robustness out there —
Several members interjected.
Mr
A.J. SIMPSON : — but behind the scenes there is a lot of work
happening around this process —
Mr
J.R. Quigley : You lied to the people —

The
SPEAKER : Member for Mandurah, do not answer your own question, please.
Mr
A.J. SIMPSON : A lot of work has been happening behind the reform process
and it is on its way. The interesting part here, members, is that we all
understand that local government reform has been on the agenda for a long time.
This government is making a decision about it and getting on with the job. We
are waiting for that report, and I am confident that it will be a good report
that will ensure that we have good, sustainable local government now and into
the future.
