I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) Communicare
has been working with clients in the family and domestic violence space for a
number of years through the Safe at Home and Domestic Violence Outreach
programs. Communicare has not operated a women's refuge in Western
Australia for the Department for Child Protection and Family Support.
(2) Communicare
operates the Breathing Space residential service and will be providing a
transitional support facility in the future. Breathing Space is an intervention
and behavioural change program available to men who have a history of family
and domestic violence to bring about positive change.
(3) Support
offered to women escaping domestic violence includes the Partnerships for
Family Safety program that offers a referral and support service to partners
and ex-partners of clients participating in Communicare's Breathing
Space and Families without Fear programs.
(4) Communicare
has provided a statewide Safe at Home perpetrator response service since 2010;
this includes working with victim services.
