I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Lands.
There are 82 document types within
the land registration system, with more than two million documents received over the period from 2017 to 2023. For the 2022–23
financial year, Landgate has received 351 882 documents, of which 71 per cent
represented lodgement of transfers, mortgages and discharge of mortgages
totalling 249 659 documents, which were registered within 20 seconds of
having been received by Landgate. To answer the
honourable member's question in full, Landgate would have to examine
and extract the data from all 82 document types, which is not considered
a reasonable use of government resources. However, if the honourable member has
a more specific question, the minister will endeavour to provide an answer.
