I refer to the Department of Environment and Conservation's
Annual Report 2011–2012
that reported more than 1100 compliance inspections of prescribed premises across a range of sectors and industries and I ask:
(a) how many prescribed premises were there under licences current during this period;
(b) how many of these prescribed premises were required to provide Annual Audit Compliance Reports to the Chief Executive Officer as required under section 62A of the
Environmental Protection Act 1986
; and
(c) for how many such prescribed premises were these annual reports actually received, in compliance with the policy applied to new and amended licences from 28 April 2008?

(b)-(c) Approximately 95% of licences require the annual submission of statutory reports. However, it is estimated it would take approximately 50 hours to collate the detail needed to provide the exact figure as under the current system, each licence would have to be checked individually. The Department of Environment Regulation (DER) is continuing to reform licensing processes and systems and is currently examining options to facilitate the central collation of data relating to statutory submissions, including audit reports, through its Industry Licensing System. Under its 2011-12 and 2012-13 Industry Regulation Compliance Programs, the department has targeted resources at statutory reporting review and auditing and is continually working with licensees to achieve compliance.
