Mr. Logan inquires about the planned housing development on the former East Greenwood Primary School site, seeking details on the number of units, their intended use (sale, shared equity, community housing, social housing), costs, and ownership structure. The Minister's response indicates negotiations are ongoing, but social housing is planned.

QuestionView source ↗

I draw the Minister's attention to the Department development of the former East Greenwood Primary School site in conjunction with the company Australand, and I ask: (a) how many apartments/units of accommodation will be built on this site; (b) assuming that the Department of Housing is the client for the development of the site, how will the apartments/units of accommodation be used? For example: (i) how many apartments/units of accommodation will be sold; (ii) how many apartments/units of accommodation will be available through shared equity or similar programs; (iii) how many apartments/units of accommodation will be given or made available to Community Housing providers; and (iv) how many apartments/units of accommodation will be made available for Homewest accommodation; (c) if the final ownership structure of apartments/units of accommodation are different to that set out in (b), please provide a breakdown of sale, lease or both; (d) what is total estimated cost of the East Greenwood Primary School site project; and (e) what is the estimated build cost for the project?

The Department of Housing advises it is finalising the negotiation of a development management agreement with Australand which, along with the local structure plan process through the City of Joondalup, will inform the final development metrics and housing types. However, it is the Department's intention that the development will contain a diverse range of affordable housing options and that approximately one in nine homes will be retained for social housing.
