(1) I refer to the Government’s decision to re-route the proposed Southern suburbs railway through South Perth-Como and Salter Point and ask was the Premier aware that when Cabinet made the decision, on 16 July, that the local Victoria Park Community Association (VPCA) had expressed its opposition to the elevated railway option through Victoria Park, and instead had expressed the view that undergrounding is definitely the best option?
(2) Was the Premier aware that when cabinet made the decision that the VPCA also expressed the view publicly that it would accept as second best a cutting rather than an elevated railway?
(3) Will the Premier advise why the views of people in his electorate are more valid or worthy of action than those expressed by constituents in the South Perth electorate who have also fought to protect the aesthetics of their community?

The Cabinet decision to re-route the proposed Southern Suburbs railway was made on behalf of the metropolitan region as a whole and not on behalf of particular interest groups.
