Projects funded in the North West of the State from the Department of Education 2001/2002 capital works program included: Dampier Primary School New covered assembly area at an estimated total cost of $460 000 La Grange Remote Community School New covered assembly area at an estimated total cost of $285 000 Pilbara Camp School Toilet upgrade at an estimated total cost of $25 000 Tom Price Senior High School A school/community sports hall and performing arts facility at a cost of $3.7 million. It is proposed that the Department of Education will contribute $2 million towards the total cost of this project. Allocated funding to major projects in the North West of the State from the Department of Education 2002/2003 capital works program include: Roebuck Primary School Major additions comprising a classroom block, library/resource centre and administration block at an estimated cost of $3.5 million. Onslow Primary School I have recently announced that a new $7 million school will be constructed to replace the existing dilapidated school. It is not clear as to which school improvement program the Member's question refers, However, in relation to recent capital works undertaken in the North West of the State I am pleased to offer the following information.
Projects funded in the North West of the State from the Department of Education 2001/2002 capital works program included:
Dampier Primary School
New covered assembly area at an estimated total cost of $460 000
La Grange Remote Community School
New covered assembly area at an estimated total cost of $285 000
Pilbara Camp School
Toilet upgrade at an estimated total cost of $25 000
Tom Price Senior High School
A school/community sports hall and performing arts facility at a cost of $3.7 million. It is proposed that the Department of Education will contribute $2 million towards the total cost of this project.
