(1) There are currently 10 publicly accessible wash-down areas in Western Australia.  Nine of those 10 are owned and operated by local government. The tenth is operated by the WA Meat Industry Authority. Several livestock processing companies have their own facilities, but those are generally not publicly accessible.
(2) The location of new facilities is a matter for the Department of Agriculture and Food, Department of Environment and Conservation, local government and the industry.
