❓ The WA parliamentary question challenges the Premier on the carbon neutrality of the Kwinana desalination plant, questioning the validity of claims made in the Climate Change Action Statement given a report's findings. The Premier's response refers to the Auditor General's report, stating that Emu Downs generates sufficient electricity to offset the plant's usage.

(1-3) I refer the member to page 21 of the Auditor General's report which states "In 2006-07, Emu Downs put into the grid 224 gigawatt hours of electricity. This amount is more than sufficient to match electricity taken from the grid by the desalination plant."
