I refer to the Planning Commission's Deputy Chair, and I ask: (a) Is the Deputy Chair required to declare a conflict of interest when dealing with matters that her company, CLE Town Planning and Design, has worked on, and if not, why not; (b) Has the Deputy Chair divested her interest in CLE or placed it in an arms length arrangement; (c) Does the Deputy Chair have any personal interest in property within the proposed health and education precinct; and (d) Has the Deputy Chair been involved in any job recruitment process pertaining to Planning Commission roles, and if so, please provide details?

All Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) Board and Committee members are required to comply with the Public Sector Commission’s Instruction 7: Code of Ethics. Further, all WAPC and sub-committee members are required to adhere to the WAPC Code of Conduct.
(b)-(c)
The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) has advised that the former Deputy Chair of the WAPC managed all matters in accordance with the Public Sector Commission’s Instruction 7: Code of Ethics and the WAPC Code of Conduct, including UWA-QEII precinct considerations.
(d)
DPLH has advised that the former Deputy Chair has not been involved in any recruitment processes for WA Planning Commission roles, as members of the WA Planning Commission, including the Chairperson, are appointed by the Minister for Planning.
