I refer to page 58 of the 2017 Annual Report for the Department of Agriculture and Food WA, and I ask: (a) Has the Department informed the Minister on how the Tomato Potato Psillid (TPP) got into WA; (b) If so, how does the Department believe the TPP got into WA; (c) What is the current estimated economic impact of the TPP; and (d) How far has the TPP now dispersed in the State?

(a) and (b) It is not known how the TPP entered WA.
(c) Direct cost to growers to date is estimated at $21.2 million. When the flow-on effects are also considered, the total costs to the WA economy is estimated to be in the vicinity of $79.5million. However, unlike grower costs, flow-on costs will not necessarily be felt immediately.
(d) Whilst the majority of TPP has been detected in and around Perth, TPP has been found in low numbers outside the Perth metro area including Dandaragan, Bunbury, and Margaret River.
