As at 10 May 2023 868 mental health beds were recorded as operational and 8 as non-operational.
As at 1 January 2023 804 mental health beds were recorded as operational and 14 as non-operational.
(e – f)
64 new beds were opened in 2022; 12 at Royal Perth Hospital; 40 at St James Mental Health Transition Unit and; 12 at Fiona Stanley Hospital. No beds were permanently closed
