ORD STAGE 2 — LAND RELEASE
583. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Minister for Regional
Development:
I have a supplementary question. For
$315 million of Western Australian taxpayers' money, what food will
Western Australians secure from the minister's food bowl; and was the
director general correct when he said the return would be between $20 million
and $40 million for that investment?

AnswerView source ↗

The government is considering three
proposals at the moment—one for cotton, one for sugar and one for
sandalwood. The government will make that decision —
Several members interjected.
Mr
M. McGowan : You've answered that—now, the return.
Mr
B.J. GRYLLS : The returns to the state from each of those projects are
different, and once we have defined a proponent, then we will define the
return.
