(1) Can the Minister give an assurance that the new facilities to be built and/or completed in the regional growth areas of Western Australia, as part of the new regional health infrastructure projects, are actually designed for current projected levels of growth for the areas they are expected to serve?
(2) In reference to the replacement of regional hospital facilities currently under construction or in the design stages, will the Minister table a list of the comparative figures between bed numbers in new facilities and bed numbers in any facilities that they are replacing?

(1) Yes. The planning and design for health facilities, being constructed in rural growth areas of Western Australia is underpinned by solid, systematic planning methodology. The basis for this planning is demand and capacity modelling which informs the scope and size of future health facilities. This planning is further informed by robust consideration of population health needs, contemporary service models, safety and quality issues, our health partners, and changing technologies.
Demand and capacity modelling is based on assumptions such as Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and Department of Planning population projections which are constantly reviewed.
(2) As per the Clinical Services Framework 2010 - 2020, the below table lists the current and future bed capacity numbers for Regional Resource Centres and Integrated District Hospitals across WA Country Health Service:
