I refer to Warralong community in
the Pilbara.
(1) Which
organisations currently have contracts from the Department of Housing to
undertake work in the community?
(2) What is the value of each of the
contracts, and what work is to be undertaken?

(1) Pilbara Meta Maya Regional
Aboriginal Corporation.
(2) Warralong
community is one of 23 communities that Pilbara Meta Maya Regional Aboriginal
Corporation services under the remote area essential services program. The
three-year contract of $11 866 074, including goods and services tax, is for
the repairs and maintenance of power, water and wastewater services in all 23 communities.
The department also contracts Pilbara Meta Maya Remote Aboriginal Corporation
to provide property and tenancy management services to 11 houses in Warralong
community. The value of this contract for the 2014–15 financial year
is: repairs and maintenance subsidy, $44 000, excluding GST; and operational
support funding to manage tenancy and property allocation and property and
maintenance inspections, $57 054, excluding GST. In addition, funding is
available under the support and tenant education program to support individual
tenancies.
