EMERGENCY SERVICES — APPLIANCES
771. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Minister for Emergency Services:
I refer to the following Department
of Fire and Emergency Services appliances: the Belmont incident control
vehicle, Murdoch specialised equipment tender and Osborne Park specialised
equipment tender.
(1) What is the age of each
appliance?
(2) What is the designed life of
each appliance?
(3) When is it estimated that each
appliance will be replaced?
(4) What are the arrangements in
the event that these specialist appliances are not serviceable?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) They are 15, 13 and 20 years
old.
(2) The
Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that its vehicles are not
used past their useable service life.
(3) The Belmont appliance will be replaced once it
reaches its useable service life, and the other two appliances are due
to be replaced pending a capability review.
(4) DFES deploys a standby
capability to meet its operational requirements.
