MINISTER FOR FINANCE — METIER ASIA —
CLERK'S ADVICE
1389. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the Leader of the
House representing the Minister for Finance:
I refer to the Minister for Finance's
public comments that he sought advice from the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly
on how he should declare the Metier Asia Pty Ltd shares registered in his name
by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
(1) When seeking the advice, did the
Minister for Finance advise the Clerk that —
(a) the shares are recorded in his
name;
(b) the minister is the trustee of
the shares; and
(c) the shares were held for a
self-managed super fund?
(2) What else did he advise the
Clerk about the status of the shares?
(3) Did the Clerk
at any time point out that if the minister had any doubt about what to
disclose, he could always make a discretionary disclosure?
