Now that the Prime Minister has agreed, sensibly in my view, to the removal of wagering from the federal Government’s gambling legislation, will the minister advise the House whether the State Government supports that part of the legislation which prohibits casino-style gambling being played on the Internet; and, if he does agree, what action will he take to ensure that such a ban is effective in Western Australia? I am very pleased that at long last the Prime Minister has agreed not to disrupt the racing industry of Australia, in particular the racing industry of Western Australia.  The Western Australian Government opposes gaming on the Internet.  Having said that, the Prime Minister’s legislation is unworkable.
