❓ Mr. Cook (Opposition) questions the Minister for Health regarding transparency in the Midland Public Hospital operating contract, specifically requesting the tabling of the public sector comparator and bid comparisons. The Minister responds defensively, suggesting the information may already be publicly available and pointing to the previous government's lack of transparency.

MIDLAND PUBLIC HOSPITAL — OPERATING CONTRACT
417. Mr R.H. COOK to the Minister for
Health:
I ask a supplementary question.
If the minister has nothing to hide
and is proud of these privatisation policies, why not be honest and transparent
for a change? He should table the public sector comparator and the comparison
between the bids and, once and for all, simply lay it open for the public to
see.

I feel a bit of deja vu coming on.
Last time the member asked me to table the public sector comparator it was on
the website—he had not looked for it. I do not know that this one is on
the website. However, the last one was for Fiona Stanley Hospital and it was
put on the website for public viewing. The reality is that this is the figure.
When the member was in government, he did not table any of those things or
reveal any of those —
Ms
R. Saffioti interjected.
Dr
K.D. HAMES : Oh really! Did the previous government table the contract it
drew up with Serco? I bet it did not.
The
SPEAKER : Member for West Swan, I call you to order for the first time.
